FaithTab is a Chrome browser extension that displays daily Bible verses on your new tab page. Your privacy matters to us.

Data We Collect

FaithTab does not collect, sell, or use your devotional content for advertising. If you use Plus, the extension sends a random installation ID to verify your purchase status; it is not derived from your name, browsing history, or prayer content.

All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in storage API. This includes:

• Your settings (Bible translation, clock format)
• Reading plan progress (current day, streak count)
• Prayer tracking (morning/evening completion)
• Custom shortcut links
• Cached Bible text for offline reading
• Optional Plus preferences, including a compressed personal background image
• Optional Plus study data such as saved verses, notes, tags, and prayer requests
• Optional reminder times and Sabbath-mode preference

Your devotional content remains local and is not sent to FaithTab servers or used for analytics, advertising, or tracking. The Plus verification service receives only the random installation ID and Paddle plan status needed to activate features.

Permissions

storage — Saves your settings and Plus verification state locally. Devotional content stays in your browser.

faithtab-bible.pages.dev — Checks Plus entitlement using a random installation ID. The request contains no prayer text, notes, saved verses, browsing history, or payment-card data.

topSites — Displays your most visited sites as shortcuts, like Chrome's default new tab. Never sent externally.

alarms and notifications — If you enable prayer reminders, schedules local morning/evening notifications. Reminder notifications contain generic text and never include your prayer-list content.

bible-api.com — Fetches Bible chapter text for reading plans. Only the chapter reference (e.g., "Genesis 1") is sent. No personal data included.

External Services

bible-api.com — Public, free Bible text API. No authentication or personal data required.

Unsplash — Background images loaded from public URLs. No API key or user data transmitted.

Paddle — If you purchase a FaithTab Plus plan, Paddle (our Merchant of Record) processes the checkout. Paddle may collect information such as your email address, transaction details, payment information, and tax details under its own privacy policy. FaithTab does not receive, process, or store payment card information.

Data Sharing

FaithTab does not share devotional content with third parties. A Plus checkout is an intentional transfer to Paddle, which processes the transaction under its own terms and privacy policy. FaithTab receives only the entitlement status needed to activate Plus.

Data Retention

Devotional content and the installation ID are stored locally. Server-side entitlement records are retained while needed to manage Plus access, refunds, and subscription status. Clear local data anytime via Settings → "Reset All Data"; uninstalling removes local data.

Children's Privacy

FaithTab does not knowingly collect devotional content from anyone, including children. Paddle and payment processing may have their own age and legal requirements.
